The Indiana Fever will be without star guard Caitlin Clark as they prepare to host the Phoenix Mercury tonight at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Clark, who has been dealing with a groin injury throughout the season, will miss her fifth-straight game tonight. She missed nine games with the same injury earlier in the season but was able to return before aggravating it on July 16.

Despite Clark’s absence, the Fever are 14-12 and would earn a spot in the playoffs if the season ended today. They’ve won their last two games, including a 93-78 victory over the Chicago Sky on Sunday led by Kelsey Mitchell’s explosive 35-point performance.
The Mercury are coming off an 88-72 win over the Washington Mystics, breaking a three-game losing streak. Alyssa Thomas led the team with 27 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists in the win.
Tonight’s matchup will serve as the first meeting between these two teams this season.
