Food Network’s popular and terrific competition Tournament of Champions will be back before next spring with a Christmas special! Yes, it’s a TOChristmas in July—well, this news, at least.
I’m labeling it a “special,” but that might be understating it slightly, because 32 chefs—”the world’s greatest chefs”—will compete, the same number as in a usual season.

A description of Tournament of Champions: All-Star Christmas says it will have be a “single-elimination, sudden-death bracket tournament as chef duos face off in head-to-head battles to stay alive.”
Did you catch the word “duos”? It seems like they’ll be paired up, Beat Bobby Flay: Holiday Throwdown-style. A typical season of TOC
That description comes not from Food Network, which has yet to formally announce the show, but from the casting company that will fill TOC’s studio audience.
The season is taping in mid-August, north of Santa Rosa, Calif., where Guy Fieri lives, and where his shows are filmed.
The special will film for just four days, between Aug. 12 and 15, with two taping times each day: 8:30 and 1:30.
Tickets are free, and are currently available for the first five tapings.
