North Texas will be baking Thursday, once again.

The high Thursday in Dallas-Fort Worth is expected to be 103. If that projection ends up coming to fruition, it’ll be the hottest day of 2025 so far, quickly surpassing the first 100-degree day that arrived Tuesday. Significantly less intense humidity should keep the heat index at almost exactly the same spot as the temperature, though.

Across North Texas, a heat advisory will be in effect again today for many counties. The northern half of the region will be under the alert from noon to 8 p.m., with temperatures up to 105 and heat index values up to 107. It’s the fourth day in a row the metro area has been under a heat advisory, but this weekend should give residents a break.

Rain is expected to move into North Texas, starting Thursday afternoon. The showers Thursday will most likely affect the northern part of the region, but could extend down into the metro area. Friday and Saturday, the entirety of North Texas will have a chance of showers.
