Luke Combs stopped by an iconic tourist attraction in Chicago as he prepares to perform at the city’s Lollapalooza music festival this week, but he then refused to go on it.
“I would much rather like have an encounter with a grizzly bear,” the popular country singer said in a video posted to social media.
Combs was seen in video visiting Chicago’s Skydeck at the Willis Tower, where he was then brought to The Ledge. The Ledge is a set of enclosed glass that hangs off the side of the Willis Tower, 103 stories above the ground.
Visitors step out onto the glass for “heart-stopping” views of the city below.
“I’m so excited to not go on that,” Combs said as he passed the line for the attraction.
While several people with Combs did go out onto the Ledge, he remained firm in his refusal.
“When this has been brought up, never one time have I been like ‘Oh, for sure I’m doing that.’ You know why? It’s not gonna happen – that’s why,” he said in the video.
Combs got close, taking a photo just outside of the glass, but never actually stepping out onto the ledge itself.
The country artist is slated to headline Lollapalooza Thursday and recently performed at The Metro for an aftershow Tuesday.
