The Dallas Police Department is hosting a news conference on Thursday at 11 a.m. to provide an update and body-camera footage from an incident where police shot a man on Sunday.
Police Chief Daniel Comeaux will speak at police headquarters to address the shooting that occurred in the parking lot of Escapade Clubs on Finnell Street in Dallas.
The officer involved in the shooting was working as a security guard at the club where he was in “uniformed off-duty capacity.” He was responding to a fight in the parking lot where he had heard gunshots. One of the men had a gun in his hand, police said.

Officers spoke to the man, but he did not follow commands and ran away, according to police. Additional officers confronted the man and told him to drop the gun. An officer then shot the man, police said.
