Yeah Yeah Yeahs wrapped up their “Hidden in Pieces” intimate theater tour with a three show run at Beacon Theatre on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights (7/28-7/30). Karen O, Nick Zinner, and Brian Chase were joined by longtime touring member Imaad Wasif, as well as Jherek Bischoff (who also served as musical director on this outing) and a string section that included Clarice Jensen, Darian Donovan Thomas, Finnegan Nolan Shanahan, and Marta Sofia Honer. They’ve been sticking to similar deep cut-filled setlists for much of this tour, and covering Björk’s “Hyperballad,” and in NYC, they switched things up a little each show. Night one got “Mystery Girl” as the second song of the night, night two got “Our Time,” and night three got “Miles Away.” Night two also got “Warrior” in place of “Isis” on nights one and two, nights one and three got “Hysteric,” and nights two and three got “Burning” as the first song of the encore.
