Over the weekend Minjee Lee outlasted a field of the best women in the sport to win her third major title with a three-shot victory in the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship played in Frisco, TX.
Tournament conditions were the talk of the town after the tournament came to a close with only 12 of the 78 golfers on the course going under par in the final round. With winds gusting over 30 mph and the Texas heat baking out the greens, slow play was the theme.

LPGA Tour star Nelly Korda and playing partner Brooke Henderson played their first nine holes in over three hours and were forced into a 20-play minute wait on numerous tee boxes while waiting for other groups to finish their respective holes.
“There is nowhere to go, so just patience,” Korda said of play on Saturday. “I mean, I feel like I’ve — we’ve had lots of situations in the past like year where like we’ve had to wait a long time, so unfortunately kind of used to it, which you don’t want to be used to it, especially in a two ball Saturday of a major.”
“You don’t want to be spending 20 minutes and getting up to the next tee and then you’re 15 minutes and getting up to the next tee and it’s another 15 minutes. There is just like no momentum in it,” she added, via Golf.com. “So I don’t know. I mean, you just kind of have to go with it. Everyone is going through it, everyone is dealing with it, everyone is playing the same golf course. I think the wind was gusty throughout the majority of the day, so you just kind of have to be really creative and really patient.”
The wind and wait times weren’t the only element Korda was faced to battle over the weekend.
Stuck in the sun for hours a day, golfers have a habit of developing a gnarly tan line – just think of Stewart Cink’s bald head.

As for her play on the course, Korda finished in a tie for 19th place at 6-over, 10 shots off the lead.
