Pittsburgh-based autonomous trucking company Aurora Innovation Inc. (Nasdaq: AUR) has opened a new terminal in Phoenix as part of an expansion of operations that includes nighttime driverless runs.

The Business Journal reported last fall that the company intended to extend its Fort Worth to El Paso line to Phoenix this year, which was to be its first move beyond routes in Texas. Aurora confirmed that its Phoenix terminal opened in June and it is currently making autonomous Phoenix trucking hauls for customers Hirschbach Motor Lines and Werner Enterprises.

An Aurora spokesperson declined to give the the exact address of the Phoenix terminal but said it was a few miles from the Loop 202-Interstate 10 interchange in Phoenix. The spokesperson also confirmed that Aurora employees are working at the location but declined to give a headcount there or say whether they are permanently based in Arizona.
