Two teams trying to rally and get into the National Women’s Soccer League playoff picture face off on Saturday night, as Bay FC plays host to the Houston Dash.
The NWSL has been off for over a month, as per part of the league’s collective bargaining agreement. It allows some players the opporunity to rest, while others can go off and represent their countries in various international competitions.

Bay comes back to play desperate for wins in the final few months of the regular season. The second-year franchise won just two of its last eight contests before the break, going 2-4-2 over that span. Their losses to the Orlando Pride and Gotham FC certainly hurt their chances of staying close to the top eight.
While the Dash are not eliminated from playoff contention yet, they seemingly have a mountain to climb compared to Bay. Houston dropped three straight matches before the league-wide pause, going pointless in five straight matches. The team’s last win came back on May 11 against the Seattle Reign.
Bay is currently 10th in the NWSL, three points back of Gotham for the last playoff spot, while the Dash, sitting in 12th place, are seven points behind.
These two sides came to a 2-2 draw in Houston back on May 24.
