The news was first rumoured in February, but it has now also been claimed that Eva will be taking over as landlady of the iconic Rovers Return pub as part of her comeback to Weatherfield.
An ITV spokesperson declined to comment when contacted by Radio Times.
Eva left the Street exactly seven years ago to the day, moving to France with her young daughter Susie Price following the devastating suicide of Susie’s father Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward).
Since then, Tyldesley has had roles in the likes of Scarborough, The Good Ship Murder and McDonald & Dodds, while she also took part in the 2019 edition of Strictly Come Dancing and the first season of celebrity culinary competition Cooking with the Stars.

Late last year, Tyldesley revealed that she had been asked to come back to Corrie before but hadn’t been able to make it happen due to scheduling conflicts.
“Coronation Street feels like forever ago, but I always look back with such great fondness,” she told Prima magazine. “They’ve asked me to go back a couple of times over the years, and it just so happened that I was busy with other projects.
“But if they approached me with an amazing storyline and the time was right, of course, I’d go back. So it’s always a case of never say never.”
The news comes soon after it was revealed that Jenny Connor, who was also Rovers Return landlady until recently, is being written out of the soap.
Sally Ann Matthews told fans on Instagram: “I was supposed to stay for five months but ended up doing an extra ten years because I loved it so much!
“It’s time though to play those parts I always hoped I would when I’d ’grown up.’ Thanks Trafford Wharf Rd for the memories and endless laughter x”
