Police are at the scene of an ongoing homicide investigation on the 700 block of Fifth Avenue.
The call came in at around 5:15 p.m. of a shooting in Downtown San Diego, according to the San Diego Police Department.
SDPD says that one person was shot, and that a suspect is in custody. They added that there is no active threat to the community in the area.
The shooting occurred just a few hours after a busy Padres game in the nearby Petco Park.
