An MTS trolley was involved in a deadly crash in Chula Vista Monday afternoon, which created delays for riders.
The circumstances surrounding the crash at the trolley’s crossing at Moss Street and Industrial Boulevard were not immediately known.
An alert was issued by MTS just before 1 p.m., alerting riders of the trolley’s Blue Line to 15-20 minute delays.
Video from SkyRanger 7 showed investigators surrounding what appeared to be a backpack. Nearby investigators surrounded pieces of what appeared to be an electric bicycle, although no information was disclosed regarding who was involved in the crash. Later, investigators could be seen hauling away those pieces.
NBC 7 has reached out to the Chula Vista police and the Metropolitan Transit Service for more information. An NBC 7 news crew is at the scene to gather more information.
