Menifee Mayor Ricky Estrada has been called to active military service overseas for a six-month deployment as a reservist in the U.S. Air Force.
The mayor’s deployment begins in October and will result in a temporary leadership change with Pro Tem Bob Karwin assuming mayoral duties until Estrada returns.
“During my deployment, I will continue to communicate with our City leadership and stay updated on local activities,” Mayor Estrada said. “Upon my return in six months, I look forward to continuing all the great momentum our city has accomplished.”
According to the city, public services will be uninterrupted, and the city government will continue to do its job during the mayor’s deployment.
“The Menifee City Council stands united in our support for Mayor Estrada and his service to our country,” Pro Tem Karwin said. “Our city has a strong track record of supporting our military service members, and we wish the Mayor a safe and successful deployment.”
Estrada is expected to resume his full mayoral duties upon returning from deployment in spring 2026.
