Police are looking for three drivers involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed one pedestrian Sunday night in the West Adams neighborhood, officials said Monday.
Around 9 p.m., a driver heading northbound on La Brea Avenue struck a 61-year-old man who was walking in an unmarked crosswalk eastbound from Roseland Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
After he was struck down on the street, the victim was hit by at least two other vehicles that were also traveling northbound on La Brea Avenue, police said.
None of the drivers from the three vehicles stopped to identify themselves or render help after striking the man.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim dead while he was being taken to a nearby hospital.
The man’s identity will not be released until additional family is notified, police said.
“Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves,” the LAPD said in a statement.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the South Traffic Division at 323-421-2500. A reward of up to $50,000 is available, according to the LAPD.
