A man was shot and killed in the Westlake District Tuesday and an investigation of the shooting is underway.
Rampart Division officers from Los Angeles Police Department were called at 3:01 a.m to the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Westlake Avenue regarding a shooting. When they arrived at the scene, officers found the victim lying near the intersection, an officer told City News Service.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.
Witnesses told police a possible suspect was seen running west on Wilshire.
The department’s West Bureau Homicide Unit will be in charge of the shooting investigation, police said.
