About 1,300 employees of European Union institutions sent a harsh letter to EU leaders – Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Foreign Minister Kaja Kallas, demanding immediate sanctions against Israel and decisive measures to restore humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. In their letter, they expressed “deep concern and utmost urgency,” claiming that hunger in Gaza “is accelerating at an exponential rate.” According to them, “silence from the European Union at this time means complicity in crime.”
