There officers found six men with a range of injuries, all six of whom were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics. One of the men, 21, was taken in a critical condition to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he is being treated for stab injuries.
A spokesman for NSW Ambulance said five ambulance crews attended the scene, with two further men taken to the same hospital, and another two taken to St Vincent’s Hospital, all with minor injuries. A sixth man did not need to be taken to hospital.
Police were told the men were approached and allegedly assaulted by a group of four males, who were not known to them, following an argument.
Several food delivery bikes were left at the scene in the popular public park, which looks out on to Rozelle Bay.
Police commenced an investigation and established a crime scene near the picnic shelter at Federal Park, where the alleged incident took place. A cordoned-off area was expanded on Friday morning to include much of the surrounding Glebe Foreshore parks, including Jubilee Park, with several orange evidence markers placed.
They arrested a 15-year-old boy in Annandale about 12.15am on Friday. He was taken to Newtown Police Station. A manhunt is under way for the other men allegedly involved in the incident.
