BURLESON – Lou Ann Smith, age 73, of Burleson, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. Born on August 31, 1951, in Fort Worth, Texas, she was the cherished daughter of Malvin R. Wilson and Betty Mae (Rentfro) Wilson. A proud graduate of Trimble Tech High School, Class of 1969, Lou Ann later followed her passion for numbers and earned a degree in Accounting from Tarrant County Junior College in 1994. Her life was defined by enduring love, unwavering devotion, and deep family bonds. She was preceded in death by her beloved first husband, Olen M. Smith, Sr. Their journey began with marriage on October 9, 1969, followed by a time apart, and a heartfelt reunion in matrimony on May 7, 2018. Their love remained strong until Olen’s passing in September of 2023. She is survived by her children: – Olen M. Smith, Jr. (Mike) & Ellie of North Carolina – Rebecca A. French (Becky) & Scott of Texas – Richard W. Smith (Ricky) & Brandi of Texas Lou Ann was also previously married to James L. Smith. Though their marriage ended in divorce, she continued to honor his memory after his passing. She was preceded in death by stepdaughter, Mary Nell Smith and is survived by stepdaughter, Jina Price & Ronnie (Texas). She is survived by her sister, Mary Eva Lena Smith, and was preceded in death by her brother, William M. Wilson. Lou Ann’s legacy lives on through her grandchildren. She is also survived by her niece, Betty Townsend & John, and their children, Krystn, Donnie, Xavier, Kennedy and John. Lou Ann’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, resilience, and devotion to family. Her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.
