SEGUIN, Texas – Two suspects have been arrested and charged after allegedly being caught transporting over 300 pounds of meth.

Around 7:15 p.m. on Friday, deputies with the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a Ford F150 near US90 and SH123.

The vehicle was occupied by Roberto Moreno Rangel and Martin Anibal Gomez Cisneros, who are both Mexican nationals, who had allegedly been driving on the shoulder and speeding.

During the stop, the deputy observed signs of drug trafficking and obtained consent to search the vehicle from the driver.

Deputies located an aftermarket compartment in the bed of the truck, and inside the concealed compartment, found approximately 147.75 kilograms (325.73 pounds) of Methamphetamine and 7.75 kilograms (17.08 pounds) of Heroin.

The suspects have been federally charged with Conspiracy Posession with Intent to Deliver Over 10 Kilograms and Conspiracy Possession with Intent to Deliver Over 5 Kilograms.

Both Cisnero and Rangel are being held in the Guadalupe County Jail pending transportation to federal detention centers.
