Many people dream of the day that a baby duck comes into their lives and joins their family. For one family, that dream is already a reality.
Recently, a cute little baby duck became an “unexpected houseguest” of theirs, and let’s just say that this precious little baby duck and this family are getting along swimmingly.
According to this video, this tiny little duck is named Pablo. He came to be at this residence when this woman’s kids arrived home and announced that they had “rescued a duck.” So far, Pablo has been this woman’s unofficial “little shadow” during his time with this family.
When he isn’t following this woman around like she is his mother, Pablo likes to hang around outside in his little water bowl and snack on green peas.

And we must say, watching Pablo wiggle and splash around in his water bowl is total cuteness overload!
Just look at how he flaps his little wings with joy as he splashes around and wiggles his little tail! Even the family dog likes to watch Pablo do his thing.
This Duckling May Have Already Imprinted With Her
As this other video shows, Pablo literally follows this woman everywhere around the house. If she walks across the kitchen, he is right on her heels. If she goes outside, he is there.
If she works on her laptop in the kitchen, he is by her side and will adorably fall asleep on her keyboard!
Various people in the comments section stated that Pablo has likely imprinted with this woman already, meaning that he likely considers her to be his mother.
For those who are unfamiliar with the term, imprinting refers to how baby birds will mentally and emotionally latch onto someone or something that moves and is just a little bit bigger than they are. As such, this is a very crucial moment in a duckling’s life.
Based on how Pablo is following this woman around, we think there is a very strong likelihood that he has imprinted with her already. This critical phase often takes less than a day.
It looks like Pablo is already well on his way to going from unexpected houseguest to being the newest member of the family!
