LA JOLLA – Inspired by the Jewel Ball chair, Katherine Emmert-Kozo, this year’s ball intertwined elegance, art and just the right touch of Paris to synchronize the best Jewel Ball ever in 79 years.
Synchronize is a keyword as the Aquabatix American Synchronized Swimming Team performed in the pool as this year’s ingenious call to dinner. Ballet was infused perfectly at the reception entrance and later for a just-right number of performances by the Golden State Ballet Company.
Wayne Foster Entertainment with Jacqueline had the dance floor full, full, full. So full that we at Valerie and Harry Cooper’s table danced most of the time at the table. It was that fun!
The glam factor ran high with Dianne Bashor elegant in a custom gown in collaboration with The Grateful of One Paseo, Denise Hug in lacy Helsi, Sheila Combe in a svelte golden Ralph Lauren, Annie Malcolm in a standout one-shoulder gown, my chiffon Cavalli was the most stepped on, and beautiful Valerie Cooper in Versace with just right front slits to show those million-dollar legs!
Speaking of a million, big money was raised for community organizations, including a passenger van for Camp Stevens youth camp and the Spay Neuter Action Project. Bravo!
