During the firefight, crews found a woman and three cats, who needed to be rescued out of the home. A second person and dog also made it safely out, firefighters said at the scene.
“We always say ‘stay out of the house.’ Let us go in there. We will find your pets. We’ll find your animals, and we’ll do everything we can to save them,” said Capt. Lee.
After the rescue, firefighters then used gave the injured cats oxygen through a “Fido bag” to resuscitate them. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
