WMAQ-Channel 5 morning news anchor and reporter Evrod Cassimy and his wife, Danielle, on July 29 sold their three-bedroom duplex condominium in Lakeview for $790,000.

A Columbia College Chicago graduate, Cassimy, 40, joined NBC 5 in November 2022 after nine years at a TV station in Detroit. He’s also a singer and songwriter.

In Lakeview, Cassimy and his wife paid $735,000 in July 2023 for the 2,000-square-foot-plus duplex, which is in a building that was constructed in 2002. It has 2-1/2 bathrooms, hardwood floors, a living room with a fireplace and a kitchen with quartz countertops, a breakfast bar and all-new stainless steel appliances.

Other features include a main-floor primary bedroom suite with hardwood floors and a custom organized walk-in closet, along with direct access to a private back deck. The lower level contains a family room with a gas fireplace and new carpeting.

Cassimy and his wife listed the condo on June 11 for $799,000 and found a buyer just 19 days later.

Cassimy did not respond to a request for comment. Co-listing agent Michael Mandile of Compass told Elite Street that Cassimy chose to “switch neighborhoods” and that his client “needed another property for space reasons.”

The condo had an $11,815 property tax bill in the 2023 tax year. It also has an additional $325 a month in homeowners association dues.
