Philanthropist Irwin Jacobs opened his La Jolla home to the La Jolla Music Society for its  SummerFest Gala on Aug. 9, celebrating the organization’s annual series of classical music concerts and other programs going on now through Saturday, Aug. 23.

The gala featured a reception, performances, dinner and dancing. Proceeds will go to the La Jolla Music Society’s learning and engagement programs, which serve nearly 11,000 schoolchildren and adults each year, according to gala chairs Stacy and Don Rosenberg.
