Amsterdam-based Marktlink Capital, an investment firm for entrepreneurs and private investors, has raised €520M from private investors for two funds.
The capital raised will be invested in eleven private equity funds, including Hg, Adams Street Partners, Egeria, and Mill Point Capital. Hertoghs.
This investment will further invest in hundreds of strong companies and the entrepreneurship that shapes them.
Marktlink Capital recently closed its fifth private equity fund-of-funds with €440M, well above its target of €300M.
Along with the fifth private equity fund, the company’s third venture capital fund was also closed at the maximum amount of €80M.
Some of the capital has already been invested in renowned funds, and several underlying technology and AI companies are already showing valuations.
“Despite, or perhaps even thanks to, these turbulent economic times, we managed to raise a record amount for one of our funds,” says Hylke Hertoghs, managing partner of Marktlink Capital. “Geopolitical tensions, trade tariffs, and the declining attractiveness of real estate as an asset class are increasing uncertainty in the stock market. Investors are therefore increasingly turning to broader, diversified investment strategies.”
“The funds we’ve selected are a good mix of Dutch, European, and North American funds that respond to current market conditions. Several funds have already started investing, and initial valuations are higher than expected,” adds Hertoghs.
Marktlink Capital: Making PE and VC accessible
Founded in 2020, Marktlink Capital makes private equity and venture capital accessible to private investors.
Since its inception, it has raised over €2.5B in committed capital, almost entirely from Dutch entrepreneurs and wealthy families.
With investments starting from €250,000, Marktlink Capital aims to democratise the private equity and venture capital market.
Through fund-of-funds and feeder funds, the Dutch firm invests this money in various private equity and venture capital funds that were previously only accessible to institutional investors.
This has already given nearly two thousand Dutch entrepreneurs and families access to funds that would otherwise be inaccessible.
Marktlink Capital is part of Marktlink, which has been advising entrepreneurs on the sale or acquisition of SMEs since 1996.
