You may recall that back in 2023, Daryl Hall and John Oates — one of the greatest pop duos of the ’70s and ’80s — ended their partnership bitterly, with Hall taking out a restraining order on Oates. It stemmed from Oates’ sale of his share of their back catalog and IP to publishing company Primary Wave, which Hall called “the ultimate partnership betrayal.”

Well, that’s over now. The Associated Press reports that the dispute over their Whole Oats Enterprises LLP business partnership has been resolved in the least rock n’ roll way possible: private arbitration. The AP writes, “attorneys for Hall noted the case received a final judgment in arbitration and they filed a proposed order for the judge, Nashville Chancellor Russell Perkins, to dismiss the case.”

No other details have been shared; attorneys for Hall declined comment to the AP, and Oates’ attorneys did not immediately respond the request.

Now that that’s out of the way, maybe Hall and Oates can make up and get back to playing the hits together.
