FORT WORTH – Jo Ann Blakeman, 85, passed away on August 8, 2025. SERVICE: 9:30 a.m. Monday August 18, 2025 in Greenwood’s Live Oak Chapel at 3100 White Settlement Road, Fort worth, TX 76107. With interment to follow in Greenwood Memorial Park. VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. Sunday August 17, 2025 in Greenwood Funeral Home’s Suite B at 3344 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, TX 76107. Jo Ann was born on August 15, 1939, in Montrose, Missouri. She was a homemaker until later in life. Before she was married she was a secretary, then after her children were all out of school, she worked with friends as a secretary. She was very organized and had great leadership skills. She volunteered for the ladies auxiliary for the Eagle Mountain Fire Department for many years. She was a member of the Fort Worth Elks Lodge. She served as an officer and participated in many events, community service and activities over the years. She was also very involved with the Red Hat Society, having fun, friendship and many outings. Jo Ann loved the outdoors and going camping. As her grandchildren grew up, she loved taking them camping and fishing. She and her friends also enjoyed many outings to different campgrounds. She was also great in arts and crafts. She had a wide range of artistic qualities. She loved taking pictures and had them all organized in albums. They were all dated and numbered. She literally had over 100 albums! She is survived by her daughter, Christine Yochum of Fort Worth, Texas; son, Allen Blakeman of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter, Kim Jacobs and husband, Paul of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Josh Dees of Forth Worth, Ashlee Penny of Hurst, Texas, Paul Jacobs Jr. of Azle, Texas, Blake Yochum of Azle, and Taylor Jacobs Mayeux; and great-grandchildren, Blaise Yochum, Brooke Jacobs, and Paige Jacobs.
