3. Unheard-of Ensemble
Experience an evening of boundary-pushing sound and immersive performance with Brooklyn-based quartet Unheard-of Ensemble. This free special program unfolds in two parts: At 6:30 p.m., the ensemble will perform throughout the McNay’s galleries. Don’t miss standup comedian, actor and New York Times best-selling author Sarah Colonna when she returns to San Antonio for a performance at Stable Hall on Friday. 7. Briscoe Summer Film Series
The Briscoe Western Art Museum continues its Summer Film Series celebrating 60 years of Spaghetti Westerns with a Sunday screening of “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly,” the 1966 movie starring Clint Eastwood. Admission is free with museum entry, though guests are encouraged to pre-register online to secure their seat. 8. Big Bugs
Beetles, snails and scorpions will compete for attention with the zoo’s year-round residents during this summerlong special exhibit. Bigger-than-life animatronic insects will educate visitors and make for great selfies. There’s also a pop-up market selling toys and snacks, including scorpion lollipops and larvae worm trail mix.
