Some of the most in-demand ZIP codes for real estate in the United States are in the Midwest, according to a new ranking — and some are even in the Chicago area.
According to Realtor.com’s most recent list of “hottest ZIP codes,” the Midwest has the most “hot” ZIP codes of any region U.S.
Out of the country’s top 50, 26 Midwest locations made the cut, with three even landing in the top 10.
The ranking looked at market demand, using property data from its website, and the “pace of the market as measured by the number of days a listing remains active on Realtor.com.” The “hottest” locations are those that have a high demand from buys, and homes that spend the least amount of time on the market.
The top Midwest ZIP code on the list was Ballwin, Missouri’s 63021, which ranked in the third spot. Other Midwest locations in the top 10 were 44149 in Strongville, Ohio, and 43209 in Bexley, Ohio.
Of the top 50, one was in the Chicago area and several were in Illinois.
They included 61108 in Rockford, which ranked at No. 11; 60189 in Wheaton, which ranked at No. 12; and 61704 in Bloomington, which ranked at No. 26.
