On Thursday, August 14, Jacksonville Police Department detectives, alongside the support from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina, were able to apprehend a 14-year-old juvenile for charges related to the shooting at the Jacksonville Mall on August 2. Information about the juvenile is being withheld due to his age.

On August 2, the Jacksonville Police responded to the area of the Jacksonville Mall for a shots-fired call, and when they arrived on scene, according to officials, and located two juvenile victims who had non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

The juvenile has to undergo an extradition process before they are transferred to North Carolina.
