It was a little over a year ago that the renowned culinary taste maker, Michelin Guide, announced that it would be expanding into Texas. Later that year, the Michelin Guide announced its first series of Michelin Starred restaurants in Texas, including six in Houston. This fall, Michelin Guide will host a special ceremony announcing the 2025 selection of Michelin Guide honored restaurants in Texas.

The special ceremony will take place on October 28 at Wortham Theater Center in Houston. At this special invite-only ceremony, supported by Houston First, Michelin Guide will bestow its second edition of culinary awards to chefs and restaurants in Houston, Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, and San Antonio.

“Last year marked a milestone for the Texas restaurant industry, and we’re excited to continue celebrating the state’s exceptional culinary talent at this year’s ceremony,” said Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guide, in a press release.

“Texas’ culinary scene boasts a rich heritage, defined by its diverse flavors, unique cuisines, and remarkable talent—qualities that make it distinctly Texan. It offers something for every kind of traveler, and we look forward to unveiling our Inspectors’ findings in the coming months.”

Michelin Guide distinctions include a three-starred system, three stars being its highest honor bestowed upon chefs who exemplify cooking as an art form.

Michelin Guide also awards Bib Gourmands, going towards restaurants offering quality food at a good value. The distinction is also often deferred to the Michelin inspectors’ personal favorite dishes.

The company also honors quality restaurants with a focus on sustainability with Michelin Green Stars.

The first edition of Michelin Guide awards in Texas included 117 distinguished restaurants across the state. As for Houston, Michelin awarded six restaurants with Michelin Stars, including: BCN Taste & Tradition, CorkScrew BBQ, Le Jardinier, March, Musaafer, and Tatémo.
