Anhelo has found a new home in Old Town Scottsdale, welcoming guests once again after months of preparation and a complete reimagining of its fine-dining experience.
The restaurant began service July 25 at 7007 E. 1st Ave. Owner and chef Ivan Jacobo said relocating gave him the opportunity to shape a version of Anhelo suited for Scottsdale while preserving the multi-course tasting menus that became its hallmark in Phoenix.
The new location seats just 16 people, with an additional soundproof private dining room for 10, creating what Jacobo describes as an “intentionally intimate setting.” Diners can select from three tasting menus — Petit, Chef’s and Grand — with the largest offering 10 courses and optional wine pairings. Seasonal and hard-to-find ingredients, sourced locally and internationally, drive the frequently changing menu.
Jacobo’s kitchen and service team includes staff with experience at Michelin-starred restaurants such as The French Laundry, Bouchon Napa and Coi San Francisco. The restaurant also features a secluded garden patio and a minimalist dining room. The bar program, led by a longtime collaborator of Jacobo’s, focuses on creative cocktails with an emphasis on visual presentation.
Anhelo continues its award-winning wine program, recognized by Wine Spectator, and plans to resume its wine dinner series, which previously featured renowned estates including Château Cheval Blanc.
