Winning eight out of nine games did wonders for the Sparks’ hopes to climb into a playoff spot, but two losses in their last three games have dropped them back to the No. 9 seed, just a half game behind the Seattle Storm. The Sparks’ last outing was a tough 105-97 defeat at the hands of the New York Liberty, with Kelsey Plum (26 points) and Dearica Hamby (21 points, 4 steals) doing their part to keep the game close.

Dallas snapped a five-game losing streak with a controversial 81-80 win over the Indiana Fever in which the referees drew the ire of the Fever coaching staff. Maddy Siegrist scored 22 points in the victory, shooting 9-for-13 from the field. Li Tueru added 20 off the bench, with Paige Bueckers scoring 16 points to go with eight assists and two steals.

The Sparks and Wings will meet twice more after this contest, both in Los Angeles. The Sparks won the first meeting of the season, 93-79, on June 6th.
