MASON, OH − There are six quarterfinal singles matches on tap Aug. 15 at the Cincinnati Open as the chase for the Rookwood Cup continues.

Ten seeded players will be in action Aug. 15, all on Center Court, beginning with WTA No. 3 seed Iga Swiatek facing No. 28 seed Anna Kalinskaya.

WTA No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka will follow on Center Court in a top 10 matchup against Elena Rybakina.

ATP No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz puts his 14-match ATP 1000 winning streak against No. 9 seed Andrey Rublev to conclude the day session.

WTA No. 2 Coco Gauff and No. 7 seed Jasmine Paolini are set to battle in the final quarterfinal match of the tournament. The two have split four career meetings.

Former Cincinnati Open champion Alexander Zverev is now the sixth ATP player to reach the tournament’s semifinals four times since 2000 after a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Ben Shelton.

Carlos Alcaraz is through to the Cincinnati Open semifinals after breaking Andrey Rublev in the 12th game of the third set to win the match 6-3, 4-6, 7-5.

The last of Rublev’s eight double faults ended the match as the 27-year-old launched a ball deep into the stands in frustration of his costly blunder.

Alcaraz advances to the semifinals to face either Ben Shelton or Alexander Zverev.

Rybakina finished the match with 11 aces and won 81% of points on the first serve, along with 3-of-5 break points.

Rybakina advances to her 11th WTA 1000 semifinal and first in Cincinnati to face WTA No. 3 Iga Swiatek.

Iga Swiatek is through to the Cincinnati Open semifinals for the third consecutive year after beating Anna Kalinskaya 6-3, 6-4.

Swiatek will face either WTA No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka or WTA No. 9 seed Elena Rybakina for a spot in the final.

Iga Swiatek looked to be cruising through to the semifinals, but Anna Kalinskaya just survived four match points to stay alive. Swiatek leads 5-4 and will serve for the match.

WTA No. 3 Iga Swiatek has yet to lose a set at the Cincinnati Open and just took the opening set from Anna Kalinskaya, 6-3.

Swiatek dished out a pair of aces and won 86% of points on the first serve.

Each player held serve through three games on Center Court, though Anna Kalinskaya just needed a medical timeout before serving in the fourth game due to a calf injury.

Kalinskaya got her calf wrapped and is back on the court to serve to Swiatek, who leads 2-1.

The night session features two Cincinnati quarterfinal rematches, beginning with a top 5 ATP showdown with No. 3 seed and former Cincinnati Open champion Alexander Zverev meets No. 5 Ben Shelton.

Zverev beat Shelton in last year’s Cincinnati quarterfinals.

To cap the night, No. 2 seed Coco Gauff will face No. 7 Jasmine Paolini. The two have split four career meetings, though Gauff cruised in straight sets against Paolini in the 2023 Cincinnati Open quarterfinals.
