SAN ANTONIO — A man has been arrested and charged with terroristic threat after he allegedly posted threatening messages on social media against Bexar County Judge Ron Rangel and a criminal justice attorney.

Ryan Alcoser, 43, is facing a charge of terroristic threat against a a peace officer/judge. Jail records show he also has previous charges of assault against a family member involving strangling/choking and driving while intoxicated.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained Thursday, investigators were made aware by the 379th Bexar County District Court that defendant Ryan Alcoser was posting threatening messages on Facebook beginning on Sunday, August 10.

In these messages, investigators say Alcoser referenced Judge Rangel and defense attorney Anthony Cantrell several times, writing “you f**ks are all dead” in several posts.

Mary Alcoser, Ryan’s mother, advised investigators that her son had recently been released from a treatment facility on Aug. 8, after a four month stay and had been “upset and agitated,” according to the affidavit. She also added that Ryan is bipolar and schizophrenic and had not been taking his medications.

Alcoser was arrested on Tuesday and reportedly admitted to posting the threatening Facebook messages. He is currently being held at the Bexar County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
