North Texans can expect much of the recent heat to continue through this weekend and into the beginning of next week.

The weekend kicked off with a heat advisory being issued until 8 p.m. Saturday as high temperatures will remain in the high 90s. According to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office, heat indexes could be as high as 108.

There will be some rain around North and Central Texas that will mostly skirt the Dallas-Fort Worth area this weekend, though some rain chances will return starting Wednesday.

The weather service reminded residents to drink plenty of water, wear light-colored, breathable clothing and to take frequent breaks in the shade or inside if needing to spend time outside.
