MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WKRC) — A massive 620-pound alligator was harvested on Thursday.
According to the Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division, a record-breaking night unfolded as 23 alligators were harvested from the West Central Alligator Management Area near Montgomery, Alabama.
The surge in numbers aligns with the increased issuance of hunting tags this year.
Hunters were reminded that alligator check stations for the Lake Eufaula, West Central, Southwest, and Coastal Alligator Management Areas will operate from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. during the designated hunting dates.
Among the impressive catches was the 620-pound alligator, which measured 13 feet 7 inches.
