Barcelona boss Hansi Flick has reportedly blocked talented youngsters Dro Fernandez, Jofre Torrents and Toni and Guille Fernandez from heading to Brazil to play in the Under-20 Intercontinental Cup for the club.
The Catalans will send a team out to Brazil for the competition, after winning the 2024/25 UEFA Youth League, but Flick wants all four players to stay with the first team for now, per Sport.
It seems Flick is eager for all four players to continue with the first team for the time being, with Barcelona heading now to games against Levante and Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.
The report adds that Flick is also wary he is a little short of options due to continuing registration issues. Gerard Martín, Roony Bardghji and Wojciech Szczesny are all still waiting to be registered and so weren’t part of the squad to head to Mallorca.
