Wet conditions: A storm system rolled through Southeast Michigan Tuesday morning and Lions head coach Dan Campbell saw it as a great opportunity to bring the team outside and practice in the elements. It was good to get work in the wet conditions, especially for the offensive skill positions. It’s inevitable that the Lions will play an outdoor game in rainy conditions this season. We did see more drops from pass catchers than usual, which will be good teaching points for coaches.

Catch of the day: Rookie wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa had a one-on-one rep with veteran cornerback D.J. Reed early in practice and TeSlaa made a terrific over the shoulder catch right at the pylon of the end zone with Reed in pretty good coverage. Even Reed couldn’t believe the catch as he looked over at TeSlaa and asked him if he really caught it.

Back at practice: Second-year defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo came off the PUP list and returned to practice in a limited capacity. Tight end Sam LaPorta worked his way back into practice after missing a couple weeks with an undisclosed injury. It was also good to see safety Morice Norris Jr. back working off to the side of practice with trainers.
