Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board member Carine Werner is taking heat for an alleged hot mic mishap in which she appears to call a district employee “morbidly obese.”
The incident occurred at a board meeting earlier this month. The district’s director of Nutrition Services was giving a presentation to the board about a program in which the district and Scottsdale Community College cooperated to provide food for kids during the summer.
A woman’s voice can be heard in the recording of the meeting speaking over the presenter. Much of what the woman’s voice is saying is muffled but the word’s “This is what I have to listen to” and “she’s, like, morbidly obese” are clear.
