Fast-food burger joint White Castle is set to make a “Texas-sized announcement” in Dallas-Fort Worth.
On Thursday, Aug. 21, 2025, White Castle executives will appear at Grandscape in The Colony. The company is “ready to shine in the Lone Star State,” an invitation said, more than 100 years after it was founded.
The restaurant is known for its small, square sliders. The Original has a thin beef patty, steam-grilled onions and a pickle slice. Other options abound, like a bacon and cheese slider; crispy chicken; breaded fish; and double meat, double cheese. Because of the burgers’ petite size, customers often order more than one slider.
White Castle has no restaurants in Texas right now.

Fans on social media have joked about driving hundreds of miles from Texas — to Missouri, Nevada, Kentucky and beyond to get a taste of White Castle’s signature onion burger.
The 2004 comedy Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle shared the company’s name and food with a new generation of burger fans.
Based on information from White Castle, it seems possible the first-in-Texas appearance will be in Grandscape. We expect to share details from White Castle and Grandscape soon.
Grandscape is a $1.5 billion development on State Highway 121 in The Colony, near the Dallas North Tollway. Considered the biggest restaurant village in North Texas, Grandscape was home to Texas’ first Portillo’s when it opened in 2023. The development also boasts a Scheels sporting goods store that’s 13 times the size of most big-box stores, The Dallas Morning News reported.
Should the restaurant make its Texas debut, it’s reasonable to expect long lines: The Dallas-Fort Worth openings of other beloved chain restaurants like In-N-Out Burger, Dave’s Hot Chicken and Jollibee were met with adoring fans willing to drive and wait for hours.
