Houston police say two suspects followed a poker winner from Westheimer to a Galleria-area hotel, where he was robbed in the lobby.
HOUSTON — Houston police are asking for the public’s help identifying two men accused of robbing a man in a hotel lobby in the Galleria area after he won money in a poker game.
Robbery after poker game
According to the Houston Police Department, the aggravated robbery happened around 5:40 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 1, at a hotel on Westheimer Road near Sage Road.
Investigators said two men entered the lobby, walked to the elevators, and approached the victim. The suspects forced him to the ground with an unknown object, took his personal belongings, and then ran out to a white four-door sedan. They got into the vehicle through the right passenger doors before speeding away.
Police noted the victim had just arrived at the hotel after winning a large sum of money during a poker game at a private social club on Westheimer Road near Potomac Drive.
Detectives believe the suspects may have followed and targeted him.
