HUNTSVILLE — Sam Houston will finally be in the friendly confines of Pritchett Field for the first time this season when Houston comes to town for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on Thursday.
 
The Bearkats (0-1-1) opened the season on the road last week with a 1-1 tie in Nacogdoches against rival Stephen F. Austin. Sam Houston then headed north to battle North Texas in a 2-0 loss on Sunday in Denton.
 
Tiana Johnson scored the Kats’ lone goal in the first two contests. She took a cross from sophomore Indigo Sims and knocked it in to take an early lead against the Lumberjacks before SFA scored in the second half to tie it.
 
The Bearkats snapped an 0-9 streak against the Cougars last season. Sam Houston scored two second-half goals to upset Houston on the road 3-1 last season for the first-ever win over the Cougars in program history.
