Shooting scene (Houston Police Department)
HOUSTON – A woman was taken to a hospital by private vehicle after she said she was shot while near a park on Houston’s south side Thursday evening.
Houston Police say it happened in the 5400 block of Calhoun Street.
According to Lt. Larry Crowson with HPD, the woman told police she was near McGregor Park when she heard people arguing on nearby Calhoun Street.
She said she heard gunshots and was struck by a bullet.

Crowson says the woman is currently in surgery and is expected to survive.
There is no work right now on if there are any suspects.
