Geddes, N.Y. — More than 58,000 people attended the New York State Fair on Thursday, enjoying a sunny day that featured Agriculture Career Day and Student Youth Day.

Attendance for day two was 58,372, according to fair officials. That’s about 4,700 more people than last year’s second day.

The fair’s concert lineup also drew large crowds. Rock band Cheap Trick brought in about 13,000 people to Chevy Court, while pop group AJR attracted around 24,000 to Suburban Park.

Friday is Pride Day at the fair. The day kicks off with the Progress Flag Raising at 9:30 a.m. outside the Main Gate.

Highlights include Lily Rose at 1 p.m. (Chevy Court), the Pride Day Ceremony (Empire Theater) at 2 p.m., the Drag Us to The Fair: Amber Skyy Drag Show (Empire Theater) at 3 p.m., Neon Trees (Chevy Court) at 6 p.m., and The Lady Gaga Tribute (Chevy Court) at 9 p.m.

With sunny weather expected heading into the weekend, officials anticipate even bigger crowds in the days ahead.
