Cam Skattebo made his mark on an NFL field for the first time on Thursday for the New York Giants.

His first three carries each went for four yards as the Arizona State legend was finally able to suit up in a preseason game against the New England Patriots after missing the first two games due to a hamstring injury.

Skattebo only had three carries to keep him fresh for an important role in the Giants backfield once the regular season begins.

The Giants start the regular season on Sept. 7 against the Washington Commanders.

Skattebo is listed as the 3rd RB on the Giants depth chart behind Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary but he has stood out during preseason practices and training camp.

The Giants are likely to go running back by committee as they progress through the season.

What the Giants have in Cam Skattebo

They could be in for a pleasant surprise if Skattebo can tap into the skillset that produced massive numbers with the Sun Devils last season.

He finished the year with 1,711 rushing yards, 21 touchdowns and led the team to a Big 12 Conference Championship.

The Sun Devils earned a berth in the first ever College Football Playoff, largely because of Skattebo’s contributions on offense.
