ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – St. Johns County is preparing for two key milestones in its ongoing road improvement efforts in the northern part of the county.
Next week, the county will hold a groundbreaking ceremony to start a $20 million project focused on improving the intersection of State Road 16 (SR 16) and International Golf Parkway (IGP).
This project will include designing and constructing intersection upgrades and installing a fully actuated traffic signal to improve safety and traffic flow. The fiscal year 2025 budget for this project is approximately $24.7 million.
Separately, the county will celebrate the completion of the County Road 2209 (CR 2209) and International Golf Parkway improvements project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Sept. 30, and will feature speeches from dignitaries followed by a ceremonial ribbon-cutting.
These projects are part of broader efforts to enhance traffic safety, reduce delays, and improve connectivity along key corridors in St. Johns County.
