Gamblers on two legal wagering sites have already made up their minds about who the next mayor of the City of New York will be.
And the results aren’t even close.
On the Kalshi betting site, 83% of gamblers are betting that Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani will win the election.
Former three-term Gov. Andrew Cuomo comes in a distant second to Mamdani on the Kalshi site, with just 10% of gamblers thinking that Cuomo will become the 111th mayor of the City of New York.
Trailing Cuomo is incumbent Mayor Eric Adams. Just 5% of those placing wagers on the race think that he will retain his seat in City Hall.
Rounding out the top four on the Kalshi site is GOP candidate Curtis Sliwa, with 2% of gamblers thinking that the Guardian Angels founder will be the next mayor.
The results are just as overwhelming on another major gambling site.
On the Polymarket site, 84% of those placing wagers are betting that Mamdani, a democratic socialist assemblyman from Queens, will be the next leader of the five boroughs.
Cuomo, who has also served as state attorney general, is behind Mamdani on the Polymarket site, with 10% of gamblers saying that he will be the next mayor.
Adams, whose administration has been newly engulfed in scandal, is backed by 4% of wagerers on the Polymarket site.
And Sliwa, who lost the 2021 City Hall race to Adams, is backed by 1% of gamblers on the site.
Mamdani shocked the political world by besting Cuomo in the Democratic mayoral primary earlier this year.
The mayoral election is slated for Nov. 4.
