Happy Thursday,

Anime played an important role in my childhood. When I was younger, I spent most — if not all — of my afternoons binge-watching episodes of TV shows “Fairy Tail,” “Attack on Titan” and “Dragon Ball Z.” I even attended my fair share of Fan Expo conventions in Dallas.

I’m not as obsessed with anime as I once was, but I’m tuning in to some screenings at the Anime at the Modern Film Festival this weekend.

The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, which has hosted the festival since 2012, will showcase five Japanese films to highlight the range of 21st-century anime. Find out more about the movies featured in this year’s lineup below.
