He sparked a heated debate about the jersey number 15, which once belonged to the former Denver Nuggets player, Carmelo Anthony. It seemed like Robert Horry was not at all afraid to answer his viewers with a bold and blunt reply. The franchise could most possibly retire the jersey twice, considering the impact both players have made on the franchise’s history. He emphasized the fact that Nikola Jokic is a much of valuable player than Carmelo Anthony. Also, if the Los Angeles Lakers can retire Kobe Bryant’s No. 8 and 24 jerseys, then why can’t other teams do the same? Well, it is only a matter of time.
Robert Horry’s comment sparks intense jersey number debate with Nikola Jokic and Carmelo Anthony
In his podcast, “Big Shot Bob”, Robert Horry highlighted how the Denver Nuggets can retire their jersey twice in a row, given Nikola Jokic’s performance appraisal at the franchise. On being asked by a fan about what the Nuggets could do to their number 15 jersey, he gave a blunt reply. “You can do what the h**l you want to do”, the former Spurs star said. He also said that Nikola Jokic is a much better player than Carmelo Anthony, and the franchise could easily retire the jersey twice, just like the Lakers.

“Carmelo didn’t win anything when he was there. He didn’t even win Rookie of the Year when he was there. When you look at the teams, he kept getting beat, he never made it to the Western Conference Finals,” Robert Horry further added. “Even though he had great years there, it was not years where he won Western Conference Championship, won their conference. Went to the finals. I think that’s what teams look at,” The 7x NBA champion opened up about Nikola Jokic.
Robert Horry said why Kevin Durant will never surpass LeBron James’ outstanding scores
In the same podcast, Robert Horry also explained why Kevin Durant could never dethrone LeBron James’ record-breaking scores. “Think about it. You got to average 25 points for 20 years. That’s putting it on the low. How many players gonna play 20 years?” asked the former NBA star. “Let’s look at Chris Paul, who is a great scorer, but as he got long in the tooth, his scoring kind of diminished. Did LeBron’s scoring diminish?” He further added by saying, “You got to have the body type LeBron has, who can play like a guard and play like a big. How many players out there do we know outside of KD, who I don’t see him playing for five more years?” Robert Horry has blind faith in the Lakers’ star LeBron James and his unbreakable scoring.
